​​​​​KATY – Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) has broken ground on its $33.7 million expansion of the Gerald D. Young Agricultural Sciences Center.

When the expansion is finished on the 125-acre site at 5825 Katy Hockley Cut Off Rd., the center will include:
  • 132,937-sf outdoor arena;
  • 70,287-sf show arena and pavilion;
  • 8,250 sf of barns;
  • 5,304-sf project center; and
  • eco‐pond area, parking, and roadways.

Over 77,500 students are currently enrolled at Katy ISD, according to Katy ISD's Public Dashboard​.

​​Construction on the 90,000-sf building will start in summer 2018, and is expected to last 15 months. KATY – VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa will build a third Texas location at the intersection of Gaston Rd. and Falcon Landing Blvd.

​​​​​ROCKPORT – Coldwell Banker: The Ron Brown Company has released The Swearingen Report for the Rockport housing market.

Figures from the 12 months ending in March 2017 vs the 12 months ending in March 2018 for Residential property sales, residential total dollar volume, average residential sales price, median residential sales price, total active listings end of month, and months inventory. The report, for the Rockport MLS housing market, also shows the percent change for each category between the two periods examined.

The average sales price for residential homes was $255,419 for the 12 months ending March 2018, down 6.2 percent versus the same period last year when it was $272,232.

The median price of residential homes for the 12 months ending March 2018 was $215,250, versus the same period last year when it was $225,088, down 4.4 percent.

Total sales of residential homes for Rockport MLS for the 12 months ending March 2018 was 380, a decrease of 22.1 percent (108 homes) versus the same period 2017.

The average Days on Market for residential homes for the 12 months ending March 2018 was 159, 11.2 percent longer than the same period last year.

Image of one of Genesis' nursing facility​TEXAS – Genesis HealthCare has announced it has signed a definitive agreement to sell 23 Texas skilled nursing facilities (22 buildings owned by Genesis and one leased) to Regency REIT LLC.

In addition to the 23 facilities expected to be divested in the Regency transaction, Genesis also plans to exit the operations of an additional leased skilled-nursing facility.

Aggregate revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization of all 24 facilities totaled approximately $173.7 million and $7.4 million, respectively, in 2017.​
